Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Kathy L. Barcelo received her B.A. from Florida International University in 2006 where she majored in Political Science with a minor in Public Administration. Thereafter, in 2009, she obtained a master’s degree in Public Administration from Florida International University before obtaining her Juris Doctor Degree from St. Thomas University School of Law in 2011. While in St. Thomas University School of Law, she was a member of the St. Thomas Intercultural Human Rights Law Review and the St. Thomas International Moot Court Team.
Since graduating from St. Thomas University, Mrs. Barcelo has focused her practice in the area of first-party insurance litigation through which she’s represented homeowners’ rights in all types of claims against their respective insurance companies.
Mrs. Barcelo is fluent in English and Spanish, and is admitted to practice in Florida courts, as well as the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
